Joseph Walter Dennis, who was known to most as “Uncle Joe,” passed away peacefully on the afternoon of Tuesday, June 8, 2021, at Manatawny Manor in Pottstown, PA. He lived a long and beautiful life of 78 years. Uncle Joe served in the United States Navy during the Vietnam War in his youth. After active duty, he worked as a truck driver for many years until he reached retirement age. He was a member of the Elks Lodge of Berwyn and was a huge University of Michigan Football fan. Although Uncle Joe never had biologicial children of his own, he helped to raise and take care of many children of family and friends, including two wonderful step-children. Uncle Joe had a big, caring heart and almost always had a smile on his face. He constantly had people laughing with his funny sense of humor and storytelling. Born in West Chester, Pennsylvania on December 4, 1942, Joseph was the son of the late Thomas Collins and Florence Dennis. Surviving is his loving family including brother, Winslow Winters; Godchildren, Brandon Winters and Kisha Tyler; nieces, nephews, step-children and many other close family members. He is preceeded in death by his loving wife, Kimberly Dennis. An outdoor Memorial Service followed by a repass, both open to family and friends, will be held on Saturday, June 19, 2021 at 2:00 PM at Saint Michael Park, 400 Jacobs St., Mont Clare, PA 19453. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Joe’s memory to his brother, Winslow Winters—send to 930 Henry Ave. Wayne, PA 19087. Arrangements are by the Bacchi Funeral Home & Crematory, Bridgeport, PA.
