Joseph Frances DiNardo Sr., of Norristown, died Saturday, April 9, 2016, at GreenLeaf Nursing Home in Doylestown, PA. He was 88. Born December 17, 1927, in Bridgeport, PA, to Andrew and Maria DiNardo, he graduated from Bridgeport High School in Bridgeport in 1946. In 1950, he enlisted into the U.S. Army as a private, serving in a IGC-U USAR ready reserve unit. He was called to actives from reserves for the Korean Conflict, prior to being honorably discharged as a private first class in 1952. He married Angelamaria Poretti in 1954. She died in 1986. Mr. DiNardo worked as a roll hand and still operator at Allenwood Steel Company prior to retirement. His hobbies included golf, watching sporting events on television, and spending time at Sakks, a local senior citizen center where he played cards with other seniors. He was predeceased by his wife of 32 years, Angelamaria “Mary” DiNardo; and two sisters, Mary T. DiNardo, of Norristown, and Jean Klinger, of Doylestown. Mr. DiNardo is survived by a daughter, Michele A. Teti, of Levittown; a son, Joseph DiNardo Jr., of Norristown; a sister, Carmella Ammirato, of Hammonton, NJ; a brother, Patrick DiNardo, of New England; two granddaughters, Julia and her husband, Michael Simpson, of Columbia, MD, and Angelamaria Renzetti, of Levittown; and a granddaughter, as well as many other relatives and friends. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Wednesday, April 13, 2016 at 10:00 am, at Holy Saviour Church, 407 E. Main St., Norristown, PA. His viewing will be Wednesday from 9 to 9:59 am, at the church. Interment will follow at St. Matthew Cemetery Mausoleum in Conshohocken, PA.
