Joseph J. Durkin, Jr.

Joseph J. Durkin, Jr., affectionately known as “Joe,” passed away peacefully on Friday, January 17, 2025, at the age of 67, surrounded by his family at Doylestown Hospital in Bucks County, PA. Born on April 1, 1957, in Philadelphia, PA, Joe was the beloved son of the late Ann (Moran) and Joseph Durkin.

Joe was the devoted husband of Noreen (McGovern) Durkin, with whom he shared a lifetime of love, family and countless memories. A man of quiet strength and unwavering kindness, Joe touched the lives of everyone who had the privilege of knowing him.

Joe embraced life’s simple pleasures with a deep sense of gratitude. He had a passion for hosting holiday gatherings, crafting delicious meals, and spending vacations by the beach. Whether savoring a nice glass of Irish whiskey or casting a fishing line into calm waters, Joe found joy in life’s simple and peaceful moments. Fishing was more than a pastime for Joe; it was a source of joy and a chance to create lasting memories with family and friends.

Joe is survived by his beloved wife Noreen; his three loving children, Jacqulyn, Tara, and Patrick; and his adored grandson Rory, who brought immense joy to his life. He is also survived by six siblings, an extended family, and many nieces and nephews who will always cherish his kindness, and generous spirit.

May Joe rest in eternal peace, where the waters are always calm, the fish are always biting, and the sunsets are forever golden. His legacy of love and kindness will live on in the hearts of all who knew him.

A Public Visitation will be held 10 AM to 10:50 AM and a Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11 AM both on Thursday, January 23rd, 2025, at St. Catherine of Siena Church 321 Witmer Rd. in Horsham, PA. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the EPIC Foundation, 238 N. Farview Drive, Paramus, NJ 07652.
