Joseph J. 'Joe' Kohler

Joseph J. Kohler Jr. passed away peacefully on Tuesday, April 17, 2012, surrounded by his loving family at the Southeastern Veterans Center in Spring City, PA. He was 83. Mr. Kohler was a resident of Spring City, PA and was formerly of King of Prussia, PA. He worked as a telephone engineer for AT&T. Joseph was a member of the VFW Post 31 in Spring City, PA and a social member of the King of Prussia Volunteer Fire Co.Mr. Kohler was a US Veteran of the Korean Conflict and was stationed in Germany.Born in Philadelphia, PA on July 17, 1928, he was a son of the late Joseph J. Kohler, Sr. and Mary M. (O'Donnell) Kohler. Surviving is his loving family including his wife of 33 years, Gwendolyn W. (Why) Kohler; a son, Thomas Kohler and his wife, Katie, of King of Prussia, PA; a daughter, Hope C. Strouse and her husband, Warren, of Boyertown, PA; 2 grandsons, Jacob and Benjamin; 3 brothers: Donald Kohler of Philadelphia, PA, Barry Kohler and his wife, Kathy, of Carmel, CA and William Kohler and his wife, Brigitte, of Deptford, NJ; 5 sisters: Rita Schmidt of Huntingdon Valley, PA, Dorothy DiMattia of Voorhes, NJ, Margaret Campagna and her husband, Nicholas, of Philadelphia, PA, Rosemary Salvatore of Tulsa, OK and Julia Boehm of Absecon, NJ; and many nephews and nieces. He was preceded in death by 2 sisters, Catherine Kohler and Maris Guardana. Joseph's Memorial Service will be held at The Bacchi Funeral Home & Crematory, Ltd., 805 DeKalb St. (Rt. 202), Bridgeport, PA 19405 on Saturday, April 28, 2012 at 2:00 pm.
