Joseph A. Melchiorre

Joseph A. Melchiorre passed away peacefully on Tuesday, June 10, 2014 at Chestnut Hill Hospital in Philadelphia, PA. He was 87. Mr. Melchiorre was a resident of Norristown, PA. He worked as a pool attendant for the Upper Merion Area School District. Joseph was a member of St. Francis of Assisi Church in Norristown, PA. Mr. Melchiorre was a US Army veteran of WW II, serving from 1942 to 1946 in the European-African-Middle Eastern Campaigns. He was also in the Navy Reserves for 20 years.Born in Norristown, PA on August 2, 1926, he was a son of the late Fernando and Angeline (Nagci) Melchiorre. Surviving is his loving family including two sisters, Margaret Kostow and her husband, Michael, and Mary Interrante, all of Jeffersonville; and many other loving family members. He was preceded in death by a brother, Fred Melchiorre; and a sister, Dorothy Pollak.Joseph's Funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. Francis of Assisi Church, 600 Hamilton St., Norristown, PA on Saturday, June 14, 2014 at 10:00 am. The family will receive relatives and friends on Saturday from 9 to 9:50 am, at the church.
