After living for almost five years with the ugly beast that is cancer, Joseph “Joe” Randall Narehood, age 41, peacefully passed away Wednesday, March 30, 2022, at his home in King of Prussia, PA. He was surrounded by family and his loving wife, Christine, by his side. Joe is proof that time is not linear when it comes to love. Everyone he met instantly called him a friend. Joe was unapologetically positive and kind. He was always the center of attention even though he never craved it. People were drawn to him because, in his presence, every single person felt heard, understood, and appreciated. He had the amazing gift of meeting everyone where they were. This was true for his friends, his history students, his spin class devotees, and frankly, anyone lucky enough to cross paths with him. You cannot say his name without smiling (told you, we know you just tried)! Joe packed it in during his short time on this planet. He was a proud graduate and lifelong fan of Penn State. His many passions included golf, the Steelers, and the Phillies. His taste in music was impeccable. He could always match the melody to the mood. He was the life of the party, throwing incredible ones right up to the end. Ever curious and loyal, he imparted an almost encyclopedic knowledge of everything random with those he loved. With his blindingly quick wit, he was the living embodiment of an Aaron Sorkin character. He was someone we all wanted to be. Which of course, meant that God had to call him home before he made the rest of us look even worse in comparison. He is survived by his beautiful and lucky wife of 15 years, Christine (Gagliano) Narehood; two sons blessed with his joyful, contagious laugh, Henry and Charlie; his parents H. Michael and Kathy (Schnellbaugh) Narehood; two older siblings, Valerie Narehood and Michael Narehood; and his beloved and loyal dog, Frankie. Relatives and friends are invited to Joe’s viewings at the Bacchi Funeral Home & Crematory, Ltd., 805 DeKalb St., Bridgeport, PA on Friday evening, April 1, from 4pm to 8pm and Saturday afternoon, April 2, from 12:15pm to 1:15pm at St. Philip Neri Church, 437 Ridge Pike, Lafayette Hill, PA 19444 with his Funeral Mass starting at 1:30pm. Interment will be in Valley Forge Memorial Gardens, King of Prussia, PA. Joe valued comfort and school spirit. His family asks if you are attending to please honor him by wearing Blue and White or anything Penn State. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Joe’s memory to For Pete’s Sake Cancer Respite Foundation. www.takeabreakfromcancer.org Memories and celebratory messages to Joe and his family can be made on the Joe’s Page of Awesomeness on Kudoboard. https://www.kudoboard.com/boards/GAs2zd6n/josephnarehood We could write a million more words about Joe, but will end by borrowing some of his favorites impeccably sung by Ol’ Blue Eyes himself. For what is a man, what has he got If not himself then he has not To say all the things he truly feels And not the words of one who kneels The record shows, I took the blows But I did it my way.
