Joseph Alexander Orse

Joseph Alexander Orse passed away peacefully on Thursday, May 21, 2009 at the Coatesville VA Medical Center in Coatesville, PA. Mr. Orse, age 76, was a resident of King of Prussia, PA. He was a Middle School Teacher for the Upper Merion Area School District for 37 years where he also coached basketball and softball and was an Athletic Director until his retirement in 1992. He was honored in the Upper Merion Wall of Fame in 1997 and was a PIAA and ASA softball official. Joe attended Mother of Divine Providence Church in King of Prussia, PA and was a member of St. Valentines Club, Triple ‘S' Club, Maria Assunta and the Garibaldi Association. Mr. Orse was also a US Army veteran, serving from 1955 to 1957. He was a devoted husband, father, grandfather and friend. We will miss him dearly. Born in Wilkes Barre, PA on September 26, 1932, he was a son of the late Louis and Rose (George) Orse. Surviving are his loving family including his wife of 52 years, A. Gloria (Montecalvo) Orse; a son, Joseph A. Orse and his wife, Kathy of Bridgeport, PA; a daughter, JoAnn Orse Martin and her husband, John of Hummelstown, PA; 4 grandchildren: David & Chrissy Orse and Dan & Suzy Martin; and many nephews and nieces. He was preceded in death by a brother, Louis Orse and a sister, Gina Eckrote.Relatives & friends are invited to his Funeral Mass at Mother of Divine Providence Church, 333 Allendale Rd. King of Prussia, PA on Thursday, May 28, 2009 at 10:00am.Officiating will be the Rev. Msgr. John T. Conway, Pastor. His viewings will be Wednesday from evening 6 to 8pm, and Thursday morning from 8:30 to 9:20am, both at The Bacchi-Courtney Funeral Home & Crematory, Ltd., 805 DeKalb St. (Rt. 202), Bridgeport, PA 19405.
