Joseph J. Piazza passed away peacefully on Saturday, January 10, 2015, surrounded by family at his Brightview Community residence in East Norriton, PA. Mr. Piazza was a longtime resident of Plymouth Township. Prior to his retirement, he was co-owner of the Chancellor Press Printing Company in Bridgeport and a commercial real estate broker for the William H. Wilson agency in King of Prussia. He was also a member of Holy Saviour Church in Norristown, the Lions Club, Catholic War Veterans, and the Knights of Columbus.Joseph graduated from Norristown Area High School, Class of 1939. He was a WWII veteran serving in the U.S. Army Air Corps from 1943 until his honorable discharge as Staff Sergeant in 1946. He enjoyed exploring technology, particularly computers, as well as reading, gardening and golf. Although often found cheering for his favorite sports teams, his love was spending time with his treasured sons, grandchildren, and great grandchildren.Born in Norristown on February 28, 1921, he was the son of the late Calogero and Benedetta (Interrante) Piazza. Surviving are his loving family including his beloved wife of 60 years, Christine A.(Armenti) Piazza of East Norriton, PA; 3 sons, Charles R. Piazza and his wife, Linda, of Carlsbad, CA, Thomas J. Piazza and his wife, Darlene, of Phoenixville, PA and Richard J. Piazza and his wife, Jean, of Harleysville, PA; 6 granddaughters; 1 grandson; 2 great-grandsons; and 10 nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by a sister, Lena Mascherin.Relatives and friends are invited to attend his viewing at Holy Saviour Church, 407 East Main St., Norristown, PA 19401 on Wednesday, January 14, 2015 from 9:00 AM to 10:45 AM, followed by a Funeral Mass at 11:00 AM.
