Joseph A. Santangelo

September 18, 1927 — May 17, 2020

Joseph A. Santangelo, 92, passed away peacefully with his loving wife of 72 years, Mary (nee Moles), by his side. Devoted father of sons, Anthony, Frank, and Richard (Rick) and daughter, Angelyn (Lyn). He is also survived by 11 grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren. Predeceased were brothers, Charles and Matthew (Marty) and sisters, Catherine O’Neil and Ann Carfagno. Joseph was a Navy veteran and involved in youth sports as a coach in Little League and Babe Ruth Baseball in Whitpain Township. Also in CYO sports with Saint Helena School in Center Square. He was a past Treasurer of the Park and Recreation Board in Whitpain Township. Employed by the Kennametal Corp. in Latrobe, Joe served at various levels of sales and sales management on the Eastern seaboard. He was a member of St. Teresa of Avila in Betzwood, Norristown. Previously he was a member of St. Isaac Jogues Church in Wayne and while there he was a member of the church choir for many years and served as a Lector and Lector Coordinator. Joe was a past volunteer of the Royer-Greaves School for the Blind in Paoli and also at the Norristown State Hospital. Above all, Joe Santangelo was a man of faith and family. A family that will now carry on his legacy for generations to come; and his faith, to lead him to his heavenly reward. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Joe's memory to the Royer-Greaves School for the Blind, 118 South Valley Road, Paoli, PA 19301. info@royer-greaves.org Funeral services will be held for Mr. Santangelo at a later date.
