Joseph Ralph Scandone

Joseph Ralph Scandone passed away peacefully on Tuesday, September 6, 2022 at his shore home in New Jersey. He was 87. Mr. Scandone was a US Navy veteran of the Korean War, serving from 1952 to 1955. He was employed as a driver for the Philadelphia Electric Co. until his retirement in 1990. Joseph was a member of Jeffersonville Presbyterian Church in Norristown. He was a President of the St. Valentine’s Club and a Commander of the VFW, both in Bridgeport, PA. Joseph loved bowling, hunting at his mountain home, crabbing, fishing and outdoor activities at the shore home. He was an avid Philadelphia sports fan.

Born in Norristown, PA on September 25, 1934, he was the son of the late Alexander and Anna (Toro) Scandone. Surviving is his loving family including his wife of 48 years, Catherine H. (Hertzler) Scandone; a son, Kevin Scandone; three daughters: Debra Scandone, Denise Rominger and Gina Scandone; a step-son, Francis Quigley; two step-daughters, Beth Ann Quigley and Shirley Clemson; 10 grandchildren; 8 great-grandchildren; a sister-in-law, Nanette Toro; and many other loving family members. He was preceded in death by a step-son, Steven Quigley; two grandsons, Francis Quigley and Samuel Clemson; four brothers and four sisters; two step-sisters; and a step-brother.

Relatives and friends are invited to Joseph’s viewing at Jeffersonville Presbyterian Church, 1921 W. Main Street, Norristown, PA 19403 on Saturday, September 17, 2022 from 9 to 10:50 am; with his Funeral Service starting at 11:00 am.

The family requests no flowers be sent. Donations may be made in Joseph’s memory to Jeffersonville Presbyterian Church at the above address.
