Joseph Sweeney

Joseph “Joe” Sweeney, age 79 of Norristown passed away on March 26, 2014 at Towne Manor West in Norristown. Born January 7, 1935, he was the son of the late Joseph J. and Caroline (Morris) Sweeney.  Joseph worked for Container Corporation in Oaks for 42 years until his retirement.  Formerly of Norristown and West Norriton, Joseph was a resident of Spring Meadows Assistant Living in Lansdale for the last 10 years.  Joseph was married to the late Mildred (D’Orazio) for 54 years until her passing in 2013.  Joseph loved to do many things, he loved going to the casino’s, gardening and dressing up as Santa Claus over the many years for company Christmas parties. Along with his wife and parents, Joseph is preceded in death by his daughter, Sandra and his 3 sisters, Virginia Schultz, Doris Sibley & Joyce Smith. Joseph is survived by 5 nieces and 3 nephews and will be sadly missed by all who knew him. There will be no service and burial will be at the convenience of the family.
