Joseph Peter Wall, Sr. Joseph Peter Wall, Sr., 67, of Jenkintown, PA passed away following a 6 year battle with cancer, Thursday, November 15th, 2018, at Hillcrest Center in Wyncote, PA. Joseph was born in Philadelphia, PA on June 6, 1951, the son of Marcella M. (Schorn) and the late Edward J. Wall, Jr. Joe spent the majority of his life as a resident of Jenkintown, PA and is a graduate of Bishop McDevitt High School. Joe earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology from Temple University as well as graduating with honors from Hahnemann University’s Registered Nursing Program. Joe began his career as owner of Joe Wall General Contracting in Jenkintown, PA where he was known for his master craftsmanship and attention to detail. Although he became an RN in 1994 he continued to share his exceptional carpentry skills with his family and friends and was coined lovingly by family and friends as “Joe Wall Nurse Carpenter.” Joe took great care in the precision of his work. If you wanted something done right you would ask Joe Wall who would painstakingly plan out every detail of a project before ever making the first cut. After leaving carpentry, Joe worked for many years as a Psychiatric Nurse in both Pennsylvania and Florida. He was employed for for many years by The Kirkbride Center and Fairmount Behavioral Health Services in Philadelphia and upon relocating to Punta Gorda, Florida in 2012 he joined the behavioral health team at Bayfront Health in Port Charlotte, Florida. Throughout the entirety of his nursing career he was beloved by his patients for the respect he showed them. Joe was the proud father of Marie Eberman Dennis (nee Wall), wife of John F. Dennis of Lancaster, PA and Joseph Peter Wall Jr., partner of Maura Roche of Philadelphia, PA. He is survived by his children’s mother, Margo A. Eberman of Jenkintown, PA as well as their beloved grandchildren Riley and Brecken Dennis. Joe is survived by his 7 siblings; Michael Wall husband of Diana Wall; Jerry Wall husband of the late Mary Lou Wall; Edward Wall husband of Elaine Wall; Gregory Wall; Rosemarie Rhine, wife of David Rhine; John Wall, husband of Sue Wall; and Tim Wall, husband of Elaine Pulakos. Joe is also survived by his nieces; Shawn Kalback, Karen Childress, Marlee Vlahos, Emily Wall, Kerry Hawk, Allison Wall, Katie Rhine, Lauren Decker, Kristin Wall; and nephews; Brendan Wall, John Michael Wall, Eddie Wall, Patrick Rhine, Rory Wall, Christian Wall and Shane Wall. Joe was an avid boater and spent countless hours with his family and friends cruising the Chesapeake Bay, Mullica/Delaware Rivers, and the various waters of the New Jersey and Florida shores. When Joe was not on the water you could find him skiing the mountains of the Poconos, Vermont, Canada, and Colorado with his son Joseph. Joe loved folk music and loved nothing more than to put on some tunes and cook or enjoy a simple meal (especially bbq!) with his family and friends. In Florida he regularly hosted dinner parties for his friends and neighbors and spent long hours sitting outside on warm Florida evenings shooting the breeze with the motley crew he called his own. Joe’s children were blessed to have him close by for the last year of his life and his particular sense of humor kept them laughing until the very end. Friendly by nature, Joe took the time to learn the names of all of his nurses and even to his very last days was appreciative of all. Grandpa Joe will be missed dearly by those closest to him, especially his granddaughter Riley, with whom he was especially close. Rest In Peace Joe Wall, Joe Wall, the Greatest of All. Till we meet again... Public Visitation will be held from 12 noon to 1 PM and a Memorial Service at 1 PM both on Saturday, November 24th, 2018 at the Joseph J. McGoldrick Funeral Home 507 West Ave. in Jenkintown, PA. His interment will be held at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery.
