Joseph F. Zona, Jr.

Joseph F. Zona Jr. age 88 of Pottstown, PA, formerly of Exton and Martinsburg, PA, passed away on Tuesday, April 2, 2013 at Manor Care, Pottstown.  Joe was born in Elwood City, PA to the late Joseph F. Sr. and Rose Zona.  He served during WWII in the US Navy and worked for Phila. Electric for 30 years, retiring in 1988.  He was a past Zoning Officer for Upper Uwchlan Twp., a member of the VFW in Martinsburg, St. Paul’s Lutheran Church, Lionville and the Lionville Youth Baseball Association and had a love of baseball.  He also was a campaign manager for Samuel Morris, State representative.  Joe was a loving husband, father and proud grandfather of six. Joe is survived by his beloved wife, Emilyann K. Zona; 3 children, Robert Zona of Lafayette Hill, PA, Jeffrey F. Zona (Aimee) of Mechanicsville, VA and Lisa Zona Szpindor (Stan) of Pottstown, PA; 2 sisters Florence Vernino and Clementine George both of New Castle, PA; 6 grandchildren, Jeffrey Jr., Anthony and Nicholas Zona, Andrew, Alexandra and Zachary Szpindor. Family and friends are invited to a viewing from 10 to 10:50 AM Saturday, April 6, 2013 followed by a funeral service at 11 AM at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church, 104 S. Village Ave, Exton PA 19341.  Interment in the Church Cemetery.
