Josephine T. (Scirica) Urbano

Josephine T. (Scirica) Urbano passed away peacefully on Sunday June 9, 2013 at Brandywine Senior Suites in E. Norriton, PA. She was 90. Mrs. Urbano was a resident of King of Prussia, PA. Along with her husband, Roland, they opened the King of Prussia Restaurant on Route 202. They ran the restaurant for many years during the 50's, 60's and 70's. Josephine was also a secretary to the Vice President of Philadelphia Gear CO. in King of Prussia, PA. She was a member of Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church in Bridgeport, PA. She was a past president of the Upper Merion Business Professional Women's Club. Josephine was an avid Phillies fan and she also enjoyed cooking, reading and spending time at her beach house in Brigantine, NJ. Born in Norristown, PA on November 2, 1922, she was a daughter of the late Antonio and Antonia Scirica. She was the wife of the late Roland J. Urbano, who died in 2012. Surviving is her loving family including a son, Anthony R. Urbano of E. Norriton, PA; 2 grandchildren, Anthony "Tony" Urbano and his wife, Andrea and Tara Phillips and her husband, Brad; 4 great-grandchildren: Salvatore, Brayden, Stella and Graham; a sister, Kay Bambi of Collegeville, PA; and many nephews and nieces. She was preceded in death by 2 brothers, Ben and Frank Scirica; and 3 sisters; Fran Gigliello, Anne Genuardi and Eve Mashette. Relatives & friends are invited to Josephine's Funeral Mass at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church, 502 Ford St., Bridgeport, PA on Thursday, June 13, 2013 at 10:30 am. Her viewing will be Thursday morning from 9 to 10:20 am, at the church.
