Joy Ann Brown

It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Joy Ann (Stella) Brown, who left us on the evening of June 23 at the age of 55, at home surrounded by love. She was a bright light in the lives of everyone who knew her, bringing warmth, joy, and her love of entertaining, to her friends and family.

Born and raised in Upper Moreland, PA, Joy grew up with a love for fashion and design and was able to exhibit her talent while still very young, managing retail clothing stores. She later found a home in the electronics industry, becoming a sales all-star with several electronic distribution companies. Joy was an exceptionally good planner and had a gift for executing a vision. This skill surfaced repeatedly in her professional career as well as in her home and entertaining interests. She finished her career as a 10+ year veteran of Avent, Inc. where she developed special bonds with many of her co-workers. During her career, she met her husband and best friend, Brian, and they were married in May of 2017. Whether she was cooking, decorating her home, tending to her garden, or spending quiet afternoons with Brian and cats Gatsby and Eloise, she did so always with a generous heart and a beautiful smile. One of her greatest joys was spending time with her many nieces and nephews as she was fiercely proud and protective of all. Joy loved her large family unconditionally and was grateful that all lived in the area for easy get-togethers.

Her love and memory live on in the hearts of her loving husband, Brian; her parents Margie and Harry Reith; her sisters and brothers-in-law; Kimberly & Todd Stone, Tabatha & Thomas Longstreth, Abigail & Mark Duncan, and brother Elliot Smith. Joy will be forever missed by Brian’s sister and brother-in-law, Bonnie Brown and Charles Zamorski, as well as her loving aunts; Patricia Kalinowski, Nancy Weiss, Ginger Schorn, Lora Ball, and her uncle, Ken Ball. Joy had a special fondness for Brian’s uncle and aunt, John and Liz Engberg and their daughter, Lesa Burton. Joy adored her many nieces, nephews, and cousins from the Kalinowski, Weiss, Schorn, Ball, Stone, Longstreth, and Duncan families.

In lieu of flowers, please consider donating to either of the two organizations that were very important to Joy. MRIE or St. Francis Inn Ministries where Joy volunteered for many years.
