Obituary

On July 14, 2026, Judith “Judy” Ann Stone (nee DeCerchio), of Collegeville, Pennsylvania, passed away peacefully at the age of 76, surrounded by Ted and their children.

Judy was the beloved wife of 54 years of Theodore “Ted” Stone. She was the devoted mother to Michael Stone (Maggie) of Limerick, PA, Tara Fitzpatrick (Kevin) of Trappe, PA, and Danielle Decker (Kevin) of Royersford, PA. She was a loving and proud Nonna to Cooper, Sydney, Kevin, Maddox, Conner, and Chase, each of whom brought immeasurable joy to her life.

A 1971 graduate of Immaculata University, Judy earned a degree in Spanish and went on to dedicate 39 years to the field of education. Throughout her distinguished career, she taught at several schools in Pennsylvania and New Jersey, spending the majority of her years at Paul VI High School in Haddonfield, NJ. As a Spanish and English teacher, as well as a dedicated member of the school community in numerous other roles, Judy touched countless lives. Her passion for teaching, unwavering support of her students, and genuine kindness left a lasting impression. Many former students remained in contact with her throughout the years, a testament to the profound impact she had on their lives.

Judy found happiness in many things, including summers in Ventnor, losing herself in a good book, the Immaculata Golden Macs, and creating cherished memories with her family at Disney. Above all else, however, her greatest love was her family. Her husband, children, and grandchildren were the center of her world, and she treasured every moment spent with them. Judy possessed a warmth, generosity, and radiant smile that could light up any room. She was truly one of a kind and will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.

Judy was preceded in death by her parents, Rudolph “Rudy” DeCerchio and Carmella DeCerchio.

Her legacy of love, dedication, and compassion will live on in the hearts of her family, friends, colleagues, and former students forever.

Family and friends are invited to attend a viewing from 9:30 to 10:45 a.m. on Saturday, August 1, 2026, followed by a Funeral Mass at 11:00 a.m. at Saint Teresa of Calcutta Parish, 256 Swamp Pike, Schwenksville, PA 19473.
