Karen Lawler Ochs passed away peacefully on Monday, January 1, 2024 at the Hospital of University of Pennsylvania after a courageous battle with cancer. Karen was 58 years old and a resident of Blue Bell, PA. Born on July 30, 1965 in Norristown, PA to AnnaMarie (Romano) Lawler and the late Robert F. Lawler. In addition to her mother, Karen is survived by her beloved husband of 33 years, Nicholas Joseph Ochs; her daughter, Natalie Lawler Ochs, her dog Teddy and granddog Winona; as well as many other loving family members and friends.
A true “Mercy Girl,” Karen attended Gwynedd Mercy Academy Elementary and High School, and received her Bachelor’s Degree in Marketing from Gwynedd Mercy University in 1988. She was employed as a store manager at the Ann Taylor in Montgomeryville for many years where she pursued her love of fashion and styling.
Karen had a great love of music. Her eclectic music taste spanned across many decades and genres, from The Rolling Stones to New Edition, from INXS to *NSYNC. One of Karen’s favorite activities was attending concerts with her friends and family. Karen was a pop culture savant as well, especially when it came to ‘80s movies, Friends, and Beverly Hills, 90210.
Karen's infectious laughter, boundless love, and unwavering spirit touched the hearts of all who crossed her path. She will be deeply missed.
Karen was a life-long dog lover, so in lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Karen’s memory to The Rescued Pup of Ramona, CA.
