Karen D. Lockyer of Jenkintown, PA and previously of Kensington, MD died on March 18, 2018 after a long illness. She was 73. Mrs. Lockyer, a graduate of Rutgers University, was a Certified Medical Coder. She taught Medical Coding and Medical Terminology courses at Montgomery (MD) College in Takoma Park, MD. She was the co-author of two medical terminology textbooks published by McGraw Hill. She is survived by her husband of 52 years, Charles; her three children, Charles III (Kirsten), Larissa Lockyer Baker (Charles), and Daphne Lockyer Butas; seven grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews. There will be a memorial service honoring her life at 10:00 a.m. on April 14, 2018 at Abington Friends Meetinghouse, 520 Meetinghouse Road, Jenkintown, PA 19046. In lieu of flowers, the family requests contributions to Phoebe Wyncote, the nursing home that provided such extraordinary care to Karen during the last three years.
