Karen S. Thorp

Karen S. Thorp, 63, of Warminster, PA passed away Sunday, June 5th, while in the company of family, at Christ's Home. Born in Abington, she was the daughter of the late Lena J. (Flacco) and William A. Thorp. A devout Catholic, she was a former member of St. John of the Cross in Roslyn, PA and current member of St. Catherine of Siena Church in Horsham. Although she only lived at Christ’s Home for a short time, she truly made her mark. She loved her time there and could always be found participating in every activity she could find. Karen worked at Hartford Insurance as an administrative assistant for many years before her retirement. She loved a good shopping trip, a delicious lunch, and winning at Friday night bingo. Karen loved taking trips to Ocean City, New Jersey with her family. An avid Philadelphia sports fan, you could always find her in front of the TV when a game was on. Karen was a unifying force among the family. She kept everyone up to date on each other’s lives and always made sure we all would come together. Loving sister of JoAnne Howell (Thomas), William Thorp Jr. (Theresa), and Carol Reilly (Timothy), she loved nothing more than spending time with her family. While she never was a mother herself, she took a lot of pride in being a godmother to her nieces Meghan and Julie Reilly. Karen is also survived by her nieces and nephews, Kelly Corr (Larry), Thomas Howell (Jennifer), Carrie Dow (Rich), W. Scott Thorp (Mary), Timothy Reilly, 9 great nieces and nephews and 1 great-great nephew. Relatives and friends are invited to her visitation Tuesday, June 14th from 9:45 to 10:45 AM followed by her funeral mass at 11:00 AM both at St. Catherine of Siena Church, 321 Witmer Rd. Horsham, PA 19044. Interment at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the charity of your choice.
