Katherine Theresa Kenney

Katherine Theresa “Kay” Kenney, 84, of Hatboro, PA, and formerly of Landsdale, PA, Kingwood, TX & Blue Bell PA, passed away peacefully on Friday, September 25, 2026, at home surrounded by her loving family.

Katherine was born in Philadelphia, PA, on August 5, 1942, a daughter of the late Catherine Rita (McMenamin) and Thomas Martin Lydon. She was the beloved wife of the late Joseph Patrick Kenney. She was also preceded in death by her beloved brother Thomas Lydon, Edward Lydon and sister Ann Preston.

She is survived by her daughter, Kathleen Kenney; and her three sons, Thomas Kenney (Christine); Patrick Kenney (MaryAnn), and Michael Kenney (Donna). She leaves behind her cherished grandchildren: Matthew (Makenzie), Ryan (Julie), Larkin, Finnegan, Declan, and Cormac. She is also survived by her loving siblings Geraldine Reick, James Lydon, Michael Lydon, Mary Long, Margaret Schaffer, Claire Hollister, Andrew Lydon and Ellen Lindell.

She was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and dear friend to many. Her warmth, generosity, and love will be remembered by all who had the privilege of knowing her.

She cherished time spent surrounded by family and friends, always finding joy in the laughter, stories, and memories shared together. She had a love for travel and treasured the opportunity to explore new places and experience the world with those she loved. She was also deeply proud of her Irish heritage, carrying with her a strong appreciation for the traditions, history, and family connections that were such an important part of who she was.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend her viewing from 9:15 AM to 10:15 AM on Thursday, October 1, 2026, at Immaculate Conception BVM Church, 606 West Avenue, Jenkintown, PA. A Funeral Mass will follow at 10:30 AM.

Interment will be at 9:30 AM sharp on Friday, October 2, 2026, at Washington Crossing National Cemetery, 830 Highland Road, Newtown, PA 18940. Those attending the interment are asked to arrive by 9:15 AM.
