Kathryn J. (nee Sheridan) Stone passed away peacefully on January 6, 2024. Mimi, as she was affectionately known, was just shy of 96. Mimi was a long time resident of King of Prussia, PA and a founding member of Mother of Divine Providence Church. Mimi lived a full life. She was a homemaker, an active volunteer at her parish, an avid Phillies fan and enjoyed summers with her family on Long Beach Island. Kathryn was a graduate of West Philadelphia Catholic Girls High School and proudly held many jobs, including working as an executive assistant for General Electric in the Aerospace Division for many years.
Born on February 9, 1928 in Philadelphia, PA, Kathryn was the daughter of the late Herbert W. and Edna E. (nee Forsyth) Sheridan. Kathryn was also the devoted wife of the late Francis X. Stone (“Stoney”), with whom she enjoyed 66 years of marriage.
Mimi is survived by many loving family members, including three daughters, Jill Stone, Gail Stone (Matt Fishbein), and Jacquie Stone (Paul Carney); six grandchildren, Jeremy Bingaman (Kiara), Jared Pickell (Caitlin Regan), Harry Fishbein (Emma Dillon), Jordyn Cappelli (Michael), Sophie Fishbein (Donald Dietz), and Nathan Fishbein; and four great-grandchildren, Ryleigh and Colin Bingaman, Alfie Pickell, and Ellis Cappelli. Kathryn is also survived by her sister Mae Wallin and many nieces and nephews.
Relatives and friends are invited to greet Kathryn’s family on Friday, January 12, 2024 from 9:30-10:45 a.m. at Visitation BVM Church (Upper Church) 196 N. Trooper Road, Norristown, PA 19403. Her Funeral Mass will begin at 11:00 a.m. Inurnment will be at Calvary Cemetery, West Conshohocken, PA.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in Kathryn’s memory to the Sisters of Saint Joseph at Mount St. Joseph Convent, 9701 Germantown Avenue, Philadelphia, PA 19118.
