Kevin Scott Chaffinch

Kevin Scott Chaffinch of Bear, DE passed away suddenly at the age of 41 on Monday, July, 19, 2021. Many people would say that Kevin was one of the goofiest people they had ever met and that he could always fill a room with laughter. Kevin graduated from Brandywine High School, acquired his Bachelors of Music from the Berklee College of Music, and his Masters of Psychology from Naropa University. Kevin’s day-to-day job was as a PACT team director/therapist in Chester County, PA, but his true passions were drumming and teaching music. Kevin was fortunate enough to be one of the original members of the Philadelphia Eagles Drum Line. He was the director of the Southern Oracle indoor percussion program at Cumberland Regional High School, NJ, for many years, and brought them to great success. More recently, he has been directing at Middletown High School in DE. He also taught many students personally and was a huge influence in helping them follow their dreams. Kevin’s passion for music and drumming, as well as for helping people, has touched the lives of so many. Outside of music, his favorite thing to do was to spend time with his wife and kids. He loved playing games, watching movies, going on adventures, and ALWAYS making them laugh - from morning to night. Kevin was also a member of the Freemasons, Woodstown, NJ lodge. Kevin was born on October 11, 1979, a son of Shelley Scull Dormer and the late David Chaffinch. Beloved husband of Megan F. and loving father of Olivia and Samuel. Dear brother of Nicole Long (Christopher), and Brian Chaffinch. Kevin is also survived by his mother Shelley Scull Dormer, paternal grandmother Lavon Chaffinch, longtime friend David Saul Jr, many aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews, and friends. He is predeceased by his step father Gary Dormer. Relatives and friends are invited to Kevin’s visitation Wednesday, July, 28, 2021 from 11:00am to 12:00 pm and memorial service at 12:00pm both at Hoffmann Funeral Home, 1770 Brown Ave, Bensalem, PA.
