The Life of Laishah K. Holloman - (Nala)

Laishah K. Holloman, known to many as Nala, transitioned into Glory on November 25, 2023. Nala was the beloved daughter of Rhonda Walls and Kenneth Holloman and the beloved mother of Teleia M. Choueiri. Nala was born on November 10, 1990 at Orange Memorial Hospital in Orange, New Jersey.

Nala received her education from the Scotland County Public School System in North Carolina and from the Franklin Township Public School System in Somerset, New Jersey. Nala furthered her education by attending Middlesex County College and Fairleigh Dickerson University.

Nala’s accomplishments included: Phi Theta Kappa Honor Society Upsilon Gamma Chapter, the 2015 prestigious honor from the Office of Governor Chris Christie, acknowledging Nala for being selected for the New Jersey All-State Academic Team representing New Jersey’s best and brightest community college student scholars who were inducted into the NJ Phi Theta Kappa International Honor Society, the National Society of High School Scholars, received high academic honors throughout her grammar school and high school years, inducted into the National Honor Roll, participant in the Johnson & Johnson Technology awareness Program (TAP), Certificate of Achievement from the 4-H Club.

While residing in New Jersey, Nala was a member of the Metropolitan Baptist Church in Newark, New Jersey and later became a member of First Baptist Church of Lincoln Gardens in Somerset, New Jersey.

Nala was employed by Wyncote Academy in Pennsylvania as the Farm Manager & Educator of Outdoor Agriculture Class at Wyncote Academy School. Nala ran the Weekend Farmer’s Market during the spring, summer and fall seasons. She was also a Beekeeper and owner of SweetTouchDecor, LLC. from 2008-2016 amongst a host of so many other things.

Nala was also involved in the USDA Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) where she went to various local schools to talk about communities having access to food that support good health and well-being and discussed the daily life of local farmers, like herself, and their contribution to this great cause. On November 21, 2023 Nala was so excited to be voted as a member of the Board of Directors Friends of High School Park (fhsp.org). Nala made it her mission to volunteer for various causes in her community.

Nala leaves to cherish her memory her parents, Rhonda Walls and Kenneth Holloman, daughter, Teleia M. Choueiri, sister, Shanique Walls, brothers, Isaiah C. Mason and Erik Holloman, grandmother, Hannah Atkinson and a host of aunts, uncles, cousins, family and friends.

Relatives and friends are invited to her viewing on Wednesday, December 6th from 10-11am followed by her memorial service at 11am both at the Joseph J. McGoldrick Funeral Home, 507 West Ave. Jenkintown, PA 19046. Interment will be held at Lawnview Cemetery. Condolences: www.McGoldrickFH.com
