Laverne M. 'Vern' Krueger

LaVerne M. "Vern" Krueger passed away peacefully on Wednesday, October 22, 2014 at his residence in King of Prussia, PA. He was 77. Mr. Krueger worked as a CPA for an engineering company, Selas Fluid Processing Corporation. He was an active member of the Good Shepherd Lutheran Church in King of Prussia, PA, serving as an usher for many years. Vern graduated from the University of Nebraska, and was a US Navy veteran, serving in Hawaii from 1959 to 1961. He loved traveling, bird watching, and sports. Vern and his wife were involved in the Marriage Encounter movement for many years. Born in Beatrice, NE on September 30, 1937, he was a son of the late Albert F. R. and Gunhild B. (Throntveit) Krueger. Surviving is his loving family including his wife of 49 years, Janice P. (White) Krueger; three sons: Michael A. & Karen Krueger of Phoenixville, PA, Kenneth P. & Melissa Krueger of Norristown, PA; and James P. & Kathryn Krueger of Annandale, VA; two daughters, Lisa M. & Eric Smith of Norristown, PA and Karen P. & Keith Schneider of Downingtown, PA; 18 grandchildren; two brothers, Keith & Judy Krueger of Jefferson City, MO and Earl & Angela Krueger of Huntsville, AL; three sisters: Marlys A. Snyder of Mobile, AL, Donna J. & Robert Geschwender of Lincoln, NE and Dorrene E. Johnson of Omaha, NE; and many other loving family members. He was preceded in death by a granddaughter and a sister. Relatives & friends are invited to Vern's Funeral Service at the Good Shepherd Lutheran Church, 132 E. Valley Forge Rd., King of Prussia, PA on Monday, October 27, 2014 at 11:00 am. Officiating is Pastor Julie DeWerth. His viewing is Monday from 9 to 10:50 am, at the church.
