Obituary for Laurence J. Boyd Sr. Of Wilmington, Delaware   Lawrence J. Boyd Sr., Age 91, passed away peacefully at his home in Wilmington, Delaware on Sunday, June 29, 2014.  Born in Elkton, MD to the late Cletus and Ethel Boyd.  He retired from Amtrak after 50 years of service starting with the old Penns Railroad. He was a locomotive engineer. He was the local chairman / Sec.-Treasurer of local #453 of Phila. BLE for several years. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus and the Moose Clubs. He also enjoyed winter months in Clearwater, FL., boating and was proud to learn golfing at the age of seventy. He suffered the loss of his son Laurence J. Jr in 2004 and his daughter Jennifer in 2007. He is survived by his wife of 63 years Eleanor, a daughter Connie (John) Millar, a son William, 7 grandchildren, and 3 great grandchildren. Family and Friends are invited to a memorial mass 11 a.m. Thursday, July 3rd at St. Helena’s RC Church, 602 Philadelphia Pike, Wilmington, DE.  Family will receive friends from 10 to 10:50 a.m. in the church.
