Lawrence Anthony “Larry” Donahue – 88 yrs old Born 12/22/1930 – Deceased 1/2/2019 Survived by his loving wife of 51 years, Dorothy “Dabby” Donahue (nee Burkhardt), Daughter Laurie Donahue Wilburn, Son John Paul Donahue; survived by 2 grandchildren Elizabeth Wilburn and Colin Wilburn; his sister Jane Donahue Gallen; sister-in law Eileen Donahue (nee Duffy); sisters-in-law Pauline Donovan, Amey Richards (Bruce); one brother-in-law Adam Burkhardt (Sandy). Also survived by many loving nieces and nephews and grand nieces and nephews. Larry attended Abington High School, and served in the Korean War as a corporal in the United States Marine Corps and received a purple heart. His civilian career was as an electrician – his last working years as a union electrician for Local 98 IBEW/Philadelphia. He put up a valiant and courageous fight against several health issues for over 25 years, all the while playing his beloved golf – the last 3 yrs while on oxygen. He was a wonderful loving husband/father/grandfather; a true family man and a loyal friend to many. His home of 48 years was filled with love, living and laughter and that is where we plan to gather after his mass. In lieu of flowers, monetary donations may be made to the recipient of your choice. Relatives and friends may celebrate his funeral mass at 9:30 a.m. at Our Lady Help of Christians Church, 1500 Marian Road, Abington, PA 19001. Please visit with the family following the mass at their home. Interment will be private at Washington Crossing National Cemetery, Newtown, PA at a future date. Services entrusted to the Joseph J. McGoldrick Funeral Home, Jenkintown, PA.
