Leona A Carey

Leona A. Carey, 93, of Philadelphia, PA, formerly of 2204 Stanwood St. Phila., PA 19152 passed away Friday, March 20th, peacefully, at Philadelphia Protestant Home. Leona was born in Philadelphia, PA on September 24, 1926, a daughter of the late Anne (Jaskelewicz) and step Father Louis Ushler. She is predeceased by her son Glen and brother Edward Leon. She was the widow of Thomas Carey. She was a lifetime member of Resurrection Of Our Lord Church Philadelphia, PA 19149. She was a Supervisor for the Federal Government, working at the IRS, for 27 years before retiring in 1990. Leona is survived by a daughter, Janet, wife of Stephen Seeger and a son, Christopher. She is also survived by 5 Grandchildren : Christopher Seeger, Scott Seeger, Colleen Carey Avallone, Thomas Carey and Patrice Carey and 4 Great Grandchildren: Kathryn Seeger, Shayne Seeger, Vaeh Carey and Grace Carey. A Funeral Mass and burial will be held privately. A celebration of life will be scheduled at a later date.
