Lewis S. "Lew" Beers II passed away suddenly on Tuesday, September 23, 2014 at Bryn Mawr Hospital in Bryn Mawr, PA. He was 79. Mr. Beers was a resident of King of Prussia, PA. He was a graduate of Lafayette College. Lew worked as an Aerospace Engineer for the former G.E. & later for Lockheed Martin in King of Prussia, PA until his retirement in the 1990's. He taught a Celestial Navigation Course for the Main Line Power Squadron. Lew enjoyed cars, sailing, computers and sport shooting at French Creek Outfitters. He was a member of the VFW Post 7878 in King of Prussia, PA.Born in Phillipsburg, NJ on November 13, 1934, he was a son of the late Lewis S. and Catherine (Skeath) Beers. Surviving is his wife, Constance L. (Gebert) Beers; a son, William L. Beers and his wife, Michelle, of Athens, PA; three daughters: Elizabeth S. Franks of Parkville, MD, Leanne B. Gasink and her husband, Chris, of St. Davids, PA and Laurel S. Yurckak and her husband, Ben, of Bryn Mawr, PA; nine grandchildren; and many other loving family members. He was preceded in death by a brother, William Beers. Lew's Funeral Service will be held at The Bacchi Funeral Home and Crematory, Ltd., 805 DeKalb St. (Rt. 202) Bridgeport, PA on Saturday, September 27, 2014 at 10:00 am. The family will receive relatives and friends on Saturday from 9 to 9:50 am, at the funeral home.
