Lila M. (Chandler) Jones

Lila M. (Chandler) Jones passed away peacefully on Friday, September 1, 2017 at Norriton Square Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Norristown, PA. She was 83. Mrs. Jones was a resident of Bridgeport, PA and was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in W. Norriton, PA. She worked as a sales representative for the former JC Penney Department Store in King of Prussia, PA and was a Bridgeport Election Poll worker in the 1st Ward for over 30 years. She was an US Air Force Veteran, serving stateside during the Korean Conflict. Born in Sterling, Idaho on February 28, 1934, she was the daughter of the late Eugene W. and Emma May (Underwood) Chandler. Lila was the wife of the late Robert W. Jones, who died in 1979. Surviving is her loving family including five sons: Norman G. Jones and his wife, Pam, of Columbus, OH, Robert M. Jones of Bridgeport, PA, Brian E. Jones of Bridgeport, PA, Terry L. Jones and his wife, Michele, of Douglasville, PA, and Brent N. Jones and his wife, April, of Limerick, PA; a daughter, Lila K. Burokas of Bismark, ND; 18 grandchildren; 14 great- grandchildren; two sisters, Dorothy Heller and her husband, John, of Phoenix, AZ and Emogene Ruth Hamlyn and her husband, Robert, of Libby, MT; and many other loving family members. Lila was preceded in death by a son, Lyle R. Jones; a daughter, Karen L. Jacobson; a granddaughter, Melissa Marie Jones; a brother, Robert Chandler; and a sister, Lavina M. Chandler. Relatives and friends are invited to Lila’s viewing at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, 2530 Stinson Lane, W. Norriton, PA 19403 on Thursday, September, 7, 2017 from 5:00 to 6:45 pm, with her funeral service to follow at 7:00 pm. Her graveside service will be held Friday morning at Valley Forge Memoral Gardens, S. Gulph Rd., King of Prussia, PA at 11:00 am. Please meet at the cemetery office.
