Louis Arena

Louis Arena, aged 96, of Bensalem, PA, passed away peacefully on March 31st, 2025. Born in Valguarnera, a small town in Sicily, Italy on March 21, 1929, Louis was the cherished son of Rosa Cannolo and Giuseppe Arena, and the middle child of eleven —a close-knit family that worked, danced and laughed together instilling the value of family from an early age.

Louis dedicated his life to his family and his beloved wife, Angela Arena, who he spent 63 years alongside. Together, they built a life filled with enduring memories and deep commitment to their marriage and family. He was strong, disciplined and hard-working. He was generous and always willing to help.

He will be deeply missed by his wife, Angela; his daughter, Mary (Paul) Dressel; his son, Joseph Arena; and his surviving sisters, Maria Calaciura and Lina Arena. Louis adored his five grandchildren, Christian (Carrington) Arena, Gianna Arena (Andrew Asmas), Anthony Arena, Laura Dressel, and Nick Dressel, as well as his great-grandson, Christian Joseph Arena. Louis joins his parents and several brothers and sisters who have gone before him. He also leaves behind many nieces, nephews, cousins, grandnieces and grandnephews who treasured him. He built strong bonds with them, and kept in touch across the miles, always calling them for their birthdays and holidays. His family and friends remember him as a resilient generous man who radiated energy and always put his loved ones first. He was always fixing something or working in his little acre planted with so many tomatoes, vegetables, fruit trees and his incredible grape arbors that provided fruit, shade, and homemade wine. His flowers, especially his roses, were beautiful and always shared for special occasions. He was an inspiration to his family and friends.

Family and friends are invited to celebrate Louis' life and legacy during his visitation on Wednesday, April 9th, 2025, from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the Hoffmann Meyers Givnish Funeral Home, 1770 Brown Ave., Bensalem, PA 19020. A prayer service will follow at 11:00 AM, after which Louis will be laid to rest at Resurrection Cemetery, Bensalem, PA.
