Louis N. Sambrick, Jr.

Louis N. Sambrick, Jr. passed away peacefully on Friday, May 27, 2011 at the Coatesville VA Medical Center. He was 96. Mr. Sambrick was a resident of Norristown, PA and formerly of Conshohocken, PA. He worked for the former Adam Scheidt and the C. Schmid & Sons Brewing Co., both in Norristown, PA. Louis was a member of SS. Cosmos & Damien Church in Conshohocken and a life member of SS. Cosmos & Damien Lodge. He was also a life member of the Catholic War Veterans Chapter 1182 in Norristown; VFW Post 7676 Valley Forge Chapter; L.A.M. Valley Forge Lodge No. 1776, OSIA; and the Disabled American Veterans, Norristown Chapter 25. Mr. Sambrick was a US Army veteran of WW II. He served in the 28th tank Co. National Guard in Pennsylvania from 1934 to 1937 and then in the Southwest Pacific Theatre from 1942 to 1945. Born in Plymouth Twp., PA on May 3, 1915, he was the last of 11 children of the late Luigi and Maria F. (Troillo) Sambuco. Surviving is his loving family including two sons, Louis A. Sambrick of Plymouth Meeting, PA and Frank Sambrick and his wife, Diane of Raleigh, NC; a daughter, Rosella Persaud and her husband, Paul of Conshohocken, PA; seven grandchildren: Michelle, Francis, Antonia, Marisa, Dane, Kelly and Frank; three great-granddaughters; Noelle, Bridget and Briana; and many nephews and nieces. He was preceded in death by many brothers and sisters.Relatives and friends are invited to his Funeral Mass at SS. Cosmos and Damien Church, 209 W. 5th Ave., Conshohocken, PA 19428 on Wednesday, June 1, 2011 at 10:00am. Officiating will be the Rev. Gasper A. Genuardi, Pastor. His viewing will be Wednesday morning from 9 to 9:50am, at the church. Interment will be in Calvary Cemetery, Lower Merion Twp., PA.In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Louis' memory to the Coatesville VA Medical Center Hospice Unit, 1400 Black Horse Hill Rd., Coastesville, PA 19320 and/or SS.
