Louis F. “Rick” Walter passed away peacefully on Tuesday, November 1, 2016 at Suburban Community Hospital in E. Norriton, PA. He was 89. Mr. Walter was a resident of King of Prussia, PA since 1960. He earned a Bachelor’s Degree from the State University of NY Maritime College and was a member of the college Alumni Association. Rick worked as a mechanical engineer for GE in King of Prussia until 1972 when he started working for Amtrak, retiring in 1989. He was an active member of Trinity Church of Gulph Mills, where he was an usher, Sunday school teacher, vestryman and part of the “Over the Hill Gang.” Rick was also a member of the Glenhardie Country Club in Wayne, PA. He enjoyed golf, playing bridge and the Philadelphia Eagles. Mr. Walter was a US Navy veteran of the Korean Conflict. He served in the Mediterranean as a Lieutenant Jr. Grade aboard the USS Diamondhead. Born in the Bronx, NY on December 8, 1926, he was a son of the late Louis Edward Walter and Augusta (Bachman) Walter. He was the husband of the late Pamela H. (Harte) Walter, who died in May of 2016. Surviving is his loving family including a son, Thomas E. Walter of Eagleville, PA; a daughter, Kimberly E. Walter of Chesterbrook, PA; and many other loving family members, including his devoted nephews and nieces. He was preceded in death by a sister, Ruth Gruffi. Relatives and friends are invited to Rick’s Funeral Service at the Trinity Church of Gulph Mills, 966 Trinity Lane, King of Prussia, PA on Monday, November 7, 2016 at 10:00 am. His viewing will be Sunday evening from 4 to 6:00 pm, at The Bacchi Funeral Home & Crematory, Ltd., 805 DeKalb St., Bridgeport, PA 19405. Interment will be in Valley Forge Memorial Gardens, King of Prussia.
