Louise Marie (Opdenaker) Barnes, age 83, passed away on November 21, 2018, with her family by her side. Louise was born in Lenni, Pennsylvania on December 28, 1934, the daughter of Beatrice and Albert Opdenaker. She was predeceased by her husband, John Barnes; three sisters, Caroline Poore Bonetti, Margaret Heavens, and Patty Pennock; and one brother, Albert Opdenaker, Jr. She is survived by her brother, Gerald Opdenaker; three sisters, Barbara Graham, Rosemary Aker, and Linda Mullen. She was the beloved mother of four children, Louise Barnes Davidson, John Barnes Jr., Beatrice Fitzpatrick (James), and Kimberly Barnes; six beloved grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. Louise was a longtime resident of King of Prussia, Pennsylvania, where she raised her family. She was a well-known and beloved fixture of the Lancaster County Farmers Market in Strafford, PA, where she worked for many years. Louise was an avid walker and rarely missed a day without walking her dogs. Her favorite places to walk included Valley Forge Park, and along the beaches of the Outer Banks, NC, where she and her family spent many summers together. In her later years, she moved to Ambler, PA and quickly became known again as dogwalker. She would be spotted throughout town with her beloved Boston Terrier, Porter. Louise loved watching the Philadelphia Flyers and the Phillies, quilting and socializing with her sisters. She was loved by many and will be missed by all. Visitation will be held for relatives and friends from 10:00 am to 12:00 pm on Monday, December 3 at The Bacchi Funeral Home, 805 DeKalb Street, Bridgeport, PA 19405. Reception to follow. Interment will be at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in her memory to the following organizations: The “Snort” rescue for Boston Terriers and all short dogs (www.snortrescue.org) or to an animal rescue of your choice.
