Louise A. Freed

Louise A. (Garcia) Freed passed away peacefully on Thursday, August 25, 2016, surrounded by her loving family at Season's Hospice in Phoenixville, PA. She was 73. Mrs. Freed was a resident of Upper Merion Twp., PA. She was a retired nurse working in various nursing homes. Louise was a member of Saint Miriam Parish and Friary in Flourtown, PA. She enjoyed cooking and feeding people, and she loved all animals, especially her cats and her dogs, Bella and Lucy. Most of all, Louise loved her children and grandchildren and many other people who she considered family. Born in the Bronx, NY on August 2, 1943, she was a daughter of the late Fulgencio Garcia Ruiz and Josephine C. (Marraro) Garcia. Surviving is her loving family including her husband of 31 years, Richard D. Freed of Upper Merion Twp., PA; three sons: Tommy S. Strouse of King of Prussia, PA, Michael J. Strouse and his partner, Michael A. Alleva, of Phoenixville, PA and G. Anthony Strouse of Albrightsville, PA; two daughters, Terry A. Cannon of Limerick, PA and Kris K. Carlton and her fiancée, Tim Marquez, of King of Prussia, PA; six grandchildren: Amber, Alyssa and her husband, Kevin Weber, Nick, Connor, Alexa and Edna; a nephew, Brandon Garcin and his wife, Jen; and many other loving family members. She was preceded in death by a brother, Anthony J. Garcia. Louise’s Funeral Mass will be celebrated at Saint Miriam Parish and Friary, 654 S. Bethlehem Pike, Flourtown, PA 19031 on Wednesday, August 31, 2016 at 11:00 am. The family will receive relatives and friends on Wednesday from 10 to 10:50 am, at the church. Interment will be in Calvary Cemetery, Lower Merion Twp., PA. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Louise’s memory to the American Cancer Society, 480 Norristown Rd., Suite 150, Blue Bell, PA 19422.
