Lurline H. (Harris) McHarg passed away peacefully on Sunday, May 13, 2012, at Neighborhood VNA Inpatient Hospice in West Chester, PA. She was 88. Mrs. McHarg was a resident of Norristown PA. She worked in retail sales for the former Top Value and Dairy Made Candies in King of Prussia, PA and was also a school bus driver for the Upper Merion School District. Lurline was a member of the Salvation Army in Norristown, PA, where she played the piano in church, was the Home League secretary, and volunteered for the Christmas distribution and emergency housing. At her residence, she was a volunteer who helped with bingo, food distribution and charity bake sales. Born in Richmond, VA on June 30, 1923, she was the daughter of the late Burleigh and Lula (Donavan) Harris. Lurline was the wife of the late Lawrence H. McHarg, Sr. who died in 1989. Surviving is her loving family including a son, Lawrence H. McHarg, Jr. and his wife, Aileen, of Lansdale, PA; a daughter, Gwendolyn A. Miller and her husband, Larry, of Honey Brook, PA;15 grandchildren; 41 great grandchildren; 7 great-great grandchildren, and all to whom she was lovingly known as ""MeMe"". She was preceded in death by two daughters, Lurline ""Louise"" Conicelli and Juanita Gotwals; and a granddaughter, Denise Mary Miller. Relatives & friends are invited to Lurline's Funeral Service from The Bacchi Funeral Home and Crematory, Ltd., 805 DeKalb St., (Rt. 202), Bridgeport, PA 19405 on Thursday, May 17, 2012 at 10:00 am. Her viewings will be Wednesday evening from 6 to 8 pm and Thursday morning from 9 to 9:50 am, both at the funeral home. Interment will be in Valley Forge Memorial Gardens, King of Prussia, PA.
