Margaret Charlotte (McManus) Armenti, age 77, went home to the Lord on Wednesday, February 11, 2009, peacefully, in the presence of her loving family at her residence after a long illness. She lived in the King Manor section of Upper Merion Township since 1966. Charlotte was a graduate of St. Matthews High School, Class of 1949. She was a parishioner of Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church in Bridgeport, PA, where she was a member of the school's Mothers' Club and volunteered her time yearly as an OLMC feast worker. Along with being a wonderful homemaker, Charlotte also enjoyed listening to Big Band and Irish music, dancing, bowling, watching old time movies, occasional trips to the casinos, as well as vacationing with friends and dining out. However, her greatest joy was sharing in her grandchildren's lives. Her previous jobs included working as a Norristown operator for Bell Telephone, a Bridgeport Borough crossing guard and clerical positions for AIAC and SAIC. Mrs. Armenti was born in Conshohocken, PA on October 25, 1931 and grew up in Bridgeport, PA. She was a daughter of the late Joseph E. and Elizabeth V. (Keeley) McManus. Survived by her beloved husband of 54 years, James A. Armenti, Sr. and loving family: two sons, James A. Armenti, Jr. and his companion, Angie Facciolo of Elverson, PA and Daniel A. Armenti, Sr. and his wife, Dawn of King of Prussia, PA; a daughter, Adele M. Armenti Dolph of Bridgeport PA; five grandchildren: Alan, Angela, Emily, Daniel Jr. and Dalton; two brothers, James P. McManus of Worcester, PA and Joseph E. McManus and his wife, Judy of Newtown, PA; a sister, Ellen E. VanFossen of Bridgeport, PA; and many other relatives, nephews, nieces and friends. She was preceded in death by an infant sister, Nora Teresa McManus.Relatives and friends are invited to her Memorial Service at The Bacchi-Courtney Funeral Home & Crematory, Ltd., 805 DeKalb St. (Rt. 202), Bridgeport, PA 19405 on Saturday, February 21, 2009 at 2:00pm.
