Margaret Jean Berger

Margaret Jean Berger, age 93 passed away on June 22, 2025 surrounded by family. Margaret was born on August 26, 1931 in Johnstown, Pa to the late Russell Smith and Hazel Mardis. She is preceded in death by her husband Thomas Lewis Berger; daughter, Sandy J. Rambo (Jack, deceased).

Margaret is survived by her 6 children; Vicki L. Thompson (Jerry), Thomas M. Berger Sr. (Anna), Cynthia J. Caslin (Tom, deceased), Peggy D. Polonkey (Paul), Nancy G. Spano (Tom, deceased), and Jeffrey D. Berger (Ruth Ann); 8 grandchildren; 7 great grandchildren; brother, Allan Smith (Patti).

Margaret was an amazing woman and the true Matriarch of her family. She held court at each and every family function she attended. She answered to many names: Ma, Mom, Mama (as it sounded French), Peg, Aunt Peg, Mabel, Great Gram and Gram Cracker. She worried about her whole family, no matter how established they were in their lives. Margaret earned her wings here on earth and is now reunited in heaven with her beloved family and friends that went before her.
