Margaret L. (Amato) Comfort

Margaret L. (Amato) Comfort passed away suddenly on Wednesday, December 23, 2009 at Bryn Mawr Hospital in Bryn Mawr, PA. She was 75. Mrs. Comfort resided with her daughter in Swedesburg, PA and was previously of Norristown, PA. She worked as a cafeteria worker for the former Bishop Kenrick High School for 23 years, retiring in 2004. Margaret was a member of Holy Saviour Church in Norristown, PA. She enjoyed camping and being with her family, especially her grandchildren.Born in Norristown, PA on March 18, 1934, she was a daughter of the late Francesco and Accursia (Toarmini) Amato. She was the wife of the late Norman L. "Norm" Comfort, who died in 2003. Surviving are her loving family including three sons, William F. Comfort and his wife, MaryLynn of W. Chester, PA, Norman L. Comfort, Jr. and his fiancée, Tracey Hopkins of Rutledge, PA and Michael J. Comfort of Glenolden, PA; a daughter, Michelle M. Poley and her husband, Andrew of Swedesburg, PA; eight grandchildren: Stephen, Jamie, Alicia, William, Tara, Matthew, Jessica and Karley; a sister, Mary Trecroce of Norristown, PA; and many nephews and nieces.She was preceded in death by 5 brothers, Morris, Joseph & James Amato and Anthony & Joseph Ciaccio; and a sister, Angeline Baldassano. Relatives & friends are invited to her Funeral Mass at Holy Saviour Church, 409 E. Main St., Norristown, PA 19401 on Monday, December 28, 2009 at 10:00am. Her viewings are Sunday evening from 6 to 8pm, and Monday morning from 8:30 to 9:20am, both at The Bacchi-Courtney Funeral Home & Crematory, Ltd., 805 DeKalb St. (Rt. 202), Bridgeport, PA 19405.
