Beloved Sister of Barbara Finn and Mary (Finn) Vandenbrook passed away suddenly on 7/1/2022. She was 69. Peggy lived in Rydal and Philadelphia and in recent years resided in Ambler. She graduated from Abington High School and University of Pennsylvania. Her professional career began as an editor at various publications at U of P and Drexel University. She eventually obtained her Masters in English Literature at Arcadia University and her Ph.D. at Temple University with a focus on 19th Century American Literature. Peggy taught at Temple as an Adjunct Professor and was a gifted Instructor. She was a strong advocate for students and embraced the challenges of teaching. All who knew Peggy witnessed her absolute delight in nature – whether her beloved Arboretum at Temple Ambler Campus; her love and passion for feeding birds; her cherished pets – Maevie and Maddie (cocker spaniels), cats Bunkie and Harry, and of course – Keara – her Irish Setter companion of 13+ years. She picked up horticulture skills and created lovely gardens wherever she lived. Peggy carried the burden of chronic kidney failure and eventually dialysis in recent years. She faced her medical challenges bravely and with courage. Although her death was sudden, she had been weakened for some time by this condition. Peggy is predeceased by her parents Joseph and Matilda. Survived by her sisters Barbara and Mary, by brother-in-law Martin Vandenbrook; niece Margaret and Phil Fraissinet, niece Jennifer and Mike Carter; and great nephews & niece Ryan, Brendan, Mary and Joseph Fraissinet. Relatives and friends are invited to her viewing Wednesday, July 13th from 10-10:45 AM followed by her funeral mass at 11 AM both at St. Alphonsus Church, 33 Conwell Drive, Maple Glen, PA 19002.
