Margaret I. Goebel

Margaret I. Goebel, 90, of Cheltenham, PA passed away Sunday, October 24th, 2021, peacefully, at Lafayette Redeemer, in Philadelphia. Margaret was born in Philadelphia, PA on September 21, 1931, a daughter of the late Mary (Fox) and late Michael McDevitt. Sister of the late Jack McDevitt and the late Catherine Burman. Margaret attended West Catholic High School for girls. Margaret was a member of St. James Church in Elkins Park serving as a Eucharistic Minister and volunteering in the rectory office. She was also a former member of St. James Sodality. Margaret was proud to be a homemaker and mother. Margaret is the beloved wife of the late James A. and the loving mother of Mary Goebel, Kathleen (Art) Staerk, Jim (Kim) Goebel, Susan Cooper, Laura (Pat) Collier, Michael Goebel, Chris Goebel, Teresa (Rob) Hughes and the late Peggy Everson and Eileen Hosterman (survived by her husband Ed). She is the cherished Grandmother of 24 and Great Grandmother of 10. Margaret is also survived by her sisters-in-law Betty Larney and Nancy McDevitt. Relatives and Friends are invited to her viewing Saturday, October 30th from 10-11:45 AM and funeral mass at 12 PM both at St. James Church, 8320 Brookside Rd. Elkins Park, PA 19027. Her interment will be at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery.
