Margaret (nee DelMauro) Halas passed away on August 3, 2024 at Thomas Jefferson University Hospital in Philadelphia from complicated and complex health issues, with her loving husband by her side. Margaret was a resident of Bridgeport, PA and a member of Sacred Heart Church. She worked for many years in the health and billing industry for Johnson Rents and then finished her career with Kirkbride Center as the executive director of reimbursement. Margaret was a sports enthusiast, who particularly loved the Philadelphia sports teams. She volunteered as a baseball and basketball coach for CYO at Sacred Heart Parish when her children played. Margaret loved going to Ocean City, New Jersey for vacation, where she enjoyed walking the boardwalk, watching the children on the rides, and going to Mac & Manco for pizza. Most of all, she enjoyed spending time with her family, especially in the summertime when her relatives in New York would come down for family parties.
Born in Bridgeport, PA on August 13, 1949, she was a daughter of the late Ronald and Adele (nee Warliga) DelMauro. Margaret was the beloved wife of Ronald J. Halas.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by her son, Ronald Halas (Andrea Wilson); 2 granddaughters, Alexandra Hughes (Dermot) and Angelina Halas; her brother, Ronald DelMauro (Maria); sister, Linda Defrancisco (Lou); sister-in-law, Patricia Boggs; as well as many nieces, nephews, and great nieces and nephews.
Margaret is preceded in death by her two daughters, Michele Paul and Desiree Halas; sister, Arlene Dobbs; and a nephew, Kevin Bateman.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend Margaret’s viewing at The Bacchi Funeral Home & Crematory, 805 DeKalb St. Bridgeport, PA 19405 on Thursday evening, August 8 2024, from 6 to 8pm. A second viewing will be held Friday, August 9, 2024 at the funeral home from 8:30-9:45am; with her Funeral Mass following at Sacred Heart Church, 120 Jefferson St. Bridgeport, PA 19405 at 10:30am. Interment will be in St. Augustine Cemetery, King of Prussia, PA.
