Margaret H. Kostow

Margaret H. (Melchiorre) Kostow passed away peacefully on Sunday, December 25, 2016 at Einstein Medical Center Montgomery in E. Norriton, PA. She was 95. Mrs. Kostow was a lifetime resident of Norristown, PA. She was a graduate of Norristown High School, Class of 1939, and a member of St. Francis of Assisi Church in Norristown. She was employed at the Anne Tawney Dress Shop and Caparo Jewelers in Norristown, as an employment counselor at Snelling and Snelling, and most recently as a real estate associate for Michael Kostow Real Estate. Margaret was a passionate horticulturist who was an active member of the Norristown Garden Club. She was an officer of the Friends of the Library – Montgomery County / Norristown Public Library, where she served as Treasurer for many years. She loved traveling to Italy to visit relatives and to enjoy the country’s art, culture and architecture. Born in Norristown, PA on February 11, 1921, she was a daughter of the late Fernando and Angeline (Nagcci) Melchiorre. Surviving is her loving family including her husband, Michael Kostow; a son, Michael G. “Mickey” Kostow and his wife, Clare, of New York, NY; two grandchildren: Max Michael and Nora Clare; and many other loving family members. She was preceded in death by two brothers, Fred and Joseph Melchiorre; and two sisters, Dorothy Pollack and Mary Interrante. Relatives & friends are invited to Margaret’s Funeral Mass at St. Francis of Assisi Church, 600 Hamilton St., Norristown, PA on Friday, December 30, 2016 at 11:00 am. Her viewing is Friday from 10 to 10:50 am, at the church. Interment will be in St. Patrick's Cemetery, E. Norriton, PA.
