Margaret E. (Reid) Kuhn

Margaret E. (Reid) Kuhn passed away peacefully on Wednesday, December 29, 2010 at the Masonic Village at Elizabethtown in Elizabethtown, PA. She was 86. Mrs. Kuhn was previously a resident of Toms River, NJ and King of Prussia, PA. She worked as a nurse at Upper Merion Senior High School and as a professor at Eastern University. She was a former member of St. Matthew's United Methodist Church in Wayne, PA. Margaret was a Second Lieutenant in the Army Nurse Corps. She served stateside from 1948 to 1953 during the Korean Conflict.Born in Asbury Park, NJ on July 4, 1924, she was a daughter of the late William and Elizabeth B. (Deiss) Reid. She was the wife of the late Walter J. Kuhn, Sr., who died in 2003. Surviving is her loving family including two sons, Daniel P. Kuhn and his wife, Joann of Limerick, PA and Walter J. Kuhn, Jr. and his wife, Wendy of Malvern, PA; a daughter, Janice M. Green of Collegeville, PA; five grandchildren: Danielle, Jessica, Daniel, Kirsten and Kyle; a sister, Betty Weber of Newark Valley, NY; and many nephews and nieces.She was preceded in death by a son, Robert M. Kuhn and a daughter, Peggy B. Kuhn.Relatives and friends are invited to Margaret's Funeral Service at The Bacchi Funeral Home & Crematory, Ltd., 805 DeKalb St. (Rt. 202), Bridgeport, PA 19405 on Tuesday, January 4, 2011 at 11:00am. Her viewings will be Monday evening from 6 to 8pm, also Tuesday morning from 10 to 10:50am, both at the funeral home. Interment in Valley Forge Memorial Gardens, King of Prussia, PA.In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Margaret's memory to the American Cancer Society, 1626 Locust St., Philadelphia, PA 19103.
