Margaret "Maggie" L. Mckinney

Margaret Louise McKinney (nee Hoyt), age 75, of Bensalem, PA, passed away peacefully at home on Sunday, September 21, 2025, surrounded by her loving family.

Born on February 21, 1950, in Abington, PA, Maggie was the cherished daughter of the late Eleanor Louise (nee Woeber) and Robert Leroy Hoyt.

Maggie lived with joy, wit, and a generous heart. Her sense of humor lit up every room, and her compassion touched countless lives—especially through her many years as a devoted schoolteacher. She believed in the power of education and left a lasting impact on generations of students.

Maggie is survived by her children: Heidi Rodgers (née McKinney) and her husband Jimmy; Robert McKinney and his wife Alicia; Heather Sweeney (née McKinney) and her husband Tim; and Kevin McKinney. She is also survived by her adoring grandchildren: Justin Silverman, Gavin McKinney, Sophia McKinney, Gretchen Rodgers, Lukas McKinney, and Sawyer Sweeney, each of whom brought her immense joy. Maggie also leaves behind many cherished nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her beloved parents and her brother, William Robert Hoyt.

A celebration of Maggie’s life will be held on Thursday, September 25, 2025, from 10:00 am – 12:00 pm at Hoffmann Meyers Givnish Funeral Home, 1770 Brown Ave., Bensalem, PA 19020. Followed by her prayer service starting at noon.

In honor of Maggie’s vibrant spirit, we kindly ask guests to wear cheerful colors—please avoid black attire.
