Margaret C. (Pizza) Roberto

Margaret C. (Pizza) Roberto, 86, of Swedesburg, Upper Merion Township, a loving mother, grandmother, sister and aunt, died Monday, February 27, 2012, at Mercy Suburban Hospital in East Norriton, surrounded by her family.She was the wife of Albert J. Roberto, who passed away in 1987. They were married for nearly 40 years. Margaret was born July 17, 1925, in Bridgeport, daughter of the late Gaetano and Maria (Capone) Pizza.She was a lifelong member of Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church in Bridgeport. She was a member of the church's Blessed Virgin Mary Sodality and a longtime feast worker. Marge was a 1943 graduate of the former Bridgeport High School. During World War II she was a riveter on airplane wings at the former Hazlett Chute & Conveyance Co. in Oaks, PA. She also worked at several former Bridgeport businesses, including Bridgeport Luggage Co., Delaware Valley Box Manufacturing Co., Minter Candy Co. and also Malanowski Catering of Swedesburg. Marge is survived by two daughters, Philomena, and her husband, Frank Johns, of King of Prussia and Alberta, and her husband, Alex Caporizzo, of East Norriton; two grandchildren, Mario and Alexis Caporizzo of East Norriton; a sister, Theresa Proietto of King of Prussia; a brother-in-law, Louis Franzone and his wife, Jackie, of West Norriton; and many loving nieces and nephews. She is also survived by two step-grandsons and their families, Frank Johns Jr. of Uwchlan Township and David Johns Sr. of King of Prussia. She was predeceased by her siblings: Anthony, Charles, Rocco, Salvatore and Pasqualina Pizza, Anna DelVecchio, Assunta Borzillo and Grace Rose Lenzi.Relatives and friends are invited to Margaret's Funeral Mass at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church, 502 Ford St., Bridgeport, PA 19405 on Thursday, March 1, 2012 at 10:30 am. Her viewing will be Thursday morning from 9 to 10:20 am, at the church.
