Maria L. Amolo

Maria Libanan Amolo, 92, returned peacefully to her heavenly home on November 18, 2017. Maria was blessed with a loving family. She married Mateo Amolo in 1947. They raised their two children in their homeland in the Philippines. In 1983 they relocated to the United States to help raise their five grandchildren with patience, discipline and humility. Maria was as devoted to God as she was to her family; she prayed a rosary every morning and would regularly be seen reading her prayer book. Maria is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Lydia and Ibne Hasan; her son and daughter-in-law, Lope and Elvie Amolo; her five grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her husband, Mateo; and her brother, Benedicto Libanan, and sister, Ciriaca Camposuelo. Maria is dearly missed by her loved ones, who celebrate the fact that she is at peace with her Creator. Family and friends are invited to her visitation from 9:30 – 10:45 am and funeral mass at 11 am at Our Lady of Hope Catholic Parish, 5200 North Broad Street, Philadelphia, PA 19141. Interment will be at Northwood Cemetery, 1501 Haines Street, Philadelphia, PA 19126. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Maria’s name to Our Lady of Hope Catholic Parish.
