WILEY Maria (Chickie) Wiley, 69, passed away peacefully on October 4, 2020 at Jefferson Torresdale Hospital surrounded by family after a courageous battle with lung cancer. Chickie was born in Philadelphia on March 5, 1951, daughter of the late Florence Harner and Harrison Ehresmann. She was the loving mother of the late Meghan Rose. She spent many years at Wilsons Blue Ribbon working the deli counter, and later worked as a cashier at Dunkin’ Donuts and ShopRite until retirement. Maria enjoyed spending time with her siblings, whether it be eating dinners together, shopping for the best deals, or playing bingo for nickels. She loved playing slot machines and was an avid lottery player. She was a huge fan of Johnny Mathis and is probably still telling stories of his concert. She could watch endless amounts of Hallmark movies, the same ones, over and over. She would then talk about them on the phone with sissy Mae. Don’t ever try to call between 3pm and 4pm while General Hospital was on! She could spend hours on top of hours scrolling through her Facebook watching videos of recipes she would never make. That’s not to say she wasn’t a great cook. Her daughters will miss her roast beef, her perfect mashed potatoes, and her pork and sauerkraut, which her sons-in-law have both failed to recreate. Her homemade iced tea was out of this world. Most of all, she enjoyed snuggling up with her grandson, Orion, and watching television together while they ate Oreos and milk for breakfast and she loved to listen to her granddaughter June sing loud enough for the neighborhood to hear. Maria is survived by her children Robbin Baker (Tim), Ashley Freligh (John), and Jessica Johns. She is also survived by her grandchildren Alexandria, Orion, and June, her siblings Patricia Schiazza, Anita Wallace, John Ehresmann (Dianne), and Jacqueline Bauman (Edwin), and many cousins, nieces and nephews, great nieces and nephews, and great-great nieces and nephews. Maria is predeceased by her siblings Charlotte Friend, Joseph Licsauer, Harrison Ehresmann, Juanita Sally McKnight, Gerald Ehresmann, Florence “Dolly” Wellington. A public viewing will be held 9:30 AM until 11:00 AM and a religious service will take place at 11 AM on Saturday October, 10, 2020 at Hoffman Funeral Home 1770 Brown Ave. Bensalem, PA.
