Marian Marshall Young

Marian Marshall Young (Beck), 89, passed away peacefully at home on March 21st, 2022. Marian was born in Charleroi, Pennsylvania on August 22, 1932, to the late Michael, Jr. and Mary (Smelosky) Beck. She was the eldest of two children. She was the beloved wife of the late Richard J. Marshall and late Albert W. Young, Jr. Later in life, Marian shared many loving years with late partner, Richard M. Gavazzi. She is survived by one sibling, Michael Beck, III and his wife Pam. Also surviving are her two sons; Adrian L. Marshall of West Chester, Pennsylvania, and Wayne R. Marshall (wife Debbie) of Sellersville, Pennsylvania; grandchildren Chase D. Marshall, Reese E. Marshall and Zachary J. Beck. Marian raised her family in the Betzwood area of West Norriton and was a faithful and devout member of St. Teresa’s of Avila Parish. She was a graduate of Charleroi High School, class of 1950. Marian worked for Bell Telephone and Coca Cola after High School and then worked for National Liberty Insurance Company as a Receptionist after moving to the Norristown area. She retired from National Liberty in the early 90’s. Marian was a passionate Philly sports fan through and through. She maintained Season Tickets to the Philadelphia Eagles since the late 60’s. She bonded with her two boys at those games. She treasured every moment with family and friends. She loved the holidays, especially Christmas and Halloween. She loved to go on vacations to Myrtle Beach, SC, as well as Sea Isle City and Wildwood, NJ. She was hostess to many holiday dinners; and loved to celebrate her birthdays and Mother’s Day at her favorite restaurants, especially along the waterfront. Marian always loved to be “Dressed to the Nines” and ensured her hair was always perfect. She will always be remembered for her fun-loving demeanor and her ability to relate to everyone. Funeral Services will be private at the convenience of the family.
