Marie C. (Bateman) Mcintyre

Marie C. (Bateman) McIntyre passed away peacefully on Wednesday, October 8, 2014 at PowerBack Rehabilitation in Voorhees, NJ. She was 89. Mrs. McIntyre was a resident of Marlton, NJ and was previously of King of Prussia, PA. Marie and her late husband, Bob, were founding members of Mother of Divine Providence Church in King of Prussia, PA. She was also a member of MDP's Women's Guild and the Seniors Club of MDP. Marie was a member of the Valley Forge Chapter of Freedoms Foundation at Valley Forge, where she served as President for three years. Except for 17 very happy years as a stay-at-home mom, Marie enjoyed a rewarding career as an Executive Secretary for the former Unisys in Blue Bell, PA. She later retired from Alco Health Services.Marie and Bob enjoyed life to its fullest â€" dancing (he was a superb dancer), attending Broadway shows and traveling in the states from Alaska to California, and overseas nine times. Their favorite vacation was their trip to Israel.Born in Norristown, PA on February 10, 1925, she was the youngest daughter of the late George and Barbara (Lebens) Bateman. Marie was the beloved wife of the late Robert W. McIntyre, Sr., who died in 2006. Surviving is her loving family including a son, Robert W. McIntyre, Jr. and his wife, Carol Ann, of Gibbsboro, NJ; granddaughter, Amanda Barwise; and many other loving family members. She was preceded in death by her sisters: Claire Reeder, Dorothy Paul, Veronica Bateman and Mildred Link; and her brothers: George J., Leo, Gerald and Joseph Bateman. Relatives & friends are invited to Marie's Funeral Mass at Mother of Divine Providence Church, 333 Allendale Rd., King of Prussia, PA on Saturday, October 11, 2014 at 10:00 am. Her viewing will be Saturday from 9 to 9:50 am, at the church.
