Marie T. (Ross) Schmitz

Marie T. (Ross) Schmitz passed away peacefully on Saturday, October 6, 2012 at Seasons Hospice in Phoenixville, PA. She was 84. Mrs. Schmitz was a resident of King of Prussia, PA. She was a member of Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church in Bridgeport, PA and a graduate of the former Bridgeport High School.Born in Bridgeport, PA on September 10, 1928, she was a daughter of the late Nicholas A. and Elvera (Gazzaro) Ross. Surviving is her loving family including her husband of 61 years, John W. Schmitz, Sr.; three sons: John W. "Jack" Schmitz, Jr. and his wife, Lynda, of King of Prussia, PA, Karl J. Schmitz of Miami, FL and Daniel J. Schmitz and his wife, Stefanie, of Chesterbrook, PA; six grandchildren: Kathleen, Joseph, Brian, John, Christian and Jamie; two great-grandchildren, Kyle and Jaclyn Marie; and many nephews and nieces.Marie was the last of the 12 Ross siblings as she was preceded in death by six brothers: Ralph, John J., Anthony J. "Nonnie", Nicholas A. Jr. "Bugle", William and Richard; and five sisters: Vera Van Houten, Minnie Davis, Mildred Genther, Margaret Lawrence and Theresa Price.Funeral services and interment will be private at the request of the family.In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Marie's memory to Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church, 502 Ford St., Bridgeport, PA 19405 and/or in the form of Mass Cards/Sympathy Cards.Arrangements are by The Bacchi Funeral Home and Crematory, Ltd., Bridgeport, PA. www.bacchifuneralhome.com
